WHO WE ARE.

Welcome to The Pencil Case Project! Founded in February 2024 by myself at my kitchen table, I established The Pencil Case Project as a youth led non-profit, with the aim of ensuring that children my age have the opportunity to learn just like me. This inspired me to take action and create impact within these communities. I also recognised as a young female founder, that it is vital that we foster and encourage female attendance and participation in education globally by equipping girls as well as boys with the correct tools to access education.

We donate fully stocked pencil cases and stationery to schools and children in developing countries to help them with their schooling. Since inception, we have grown rapidly and we now have 5 partner schools across Africa and Asia, with many more lined up in the coming months. Whilst I remain the founder and CEO who oversees the entirety of the project, our volunteer team has also grown from 1 to 12 and between us we bring a wealth of experiences and talent, so we understand the importance that the correct tools make to a child's education.

Beyond donating, there are lots of ways to get involved from  spreading the word on social media to helping us fundraise, but above all we recognise that none of this would be possible without you which is why we invite you to join our community, who are giving children the opportunity to learn.- Eilidh (Founder)

HOW WE DO IT.

HOW WE REACH CHILDREN IN NEED.

Here at the Pencil Case Project we accept both generous financial contributions as well as physical stationery. We want as many people as possible to get involved and we strongly believe that money shouldn't be a barrier to helping achieve and get behind our mission. Your donation supports the purchase of stationery and pencil cases, that are then sent to our partner schools in Africa and Asia.

When we receive physical stationery as a donation, our team carefully sorts through it and then the process of sending it to our partner schools remains the same. Every child and class receives a pencil case including- the pencil case itself, 2 graphite pencils, a ballpoint pen, a ruler, an eraser, a sharpener and an assortment of 3-4 coloured pencils.

Wherever possible, we strive to include shareable classroom extras such as mathematical instruments and whiteboards. Following feedback, we are committed to reducing the use of plastic as much as possible, which is why we aim to include wooden rulers, fabric pencil cases and bamboo pens as much as possible, to reduce our environmental impact.
